PET ADOPTION CONTRACT

In adopting this cat, I agree to care for it in a humane and safe manner, providing daily food and water, proper vet care, and keeping it as a family pet and companion. I understand that after the adoption of this cat, I will be responsible for all medical care and veterinary bills that may arise with the cat, and that the RESCUE will not be held responsible to pay for such bills. I understand that it is the RESCUE'S policy to disclose any health or behavior issues that we are aware of at the time of adoption. However, we cannot guarantee any health or behavioral issues unknown by us or our veterinarian.

I agree that I will never declaw, or allow the declawing of, the cat that I adopt from the RESCUE. I agree that declawing consists of amputating not just the claws, but the whole phatanx which includes bones, ligaments and tendons.

I agree that if I can no longer care for the cat, I will contact the RESCUE first to see if there is space available for this cat to be returned.

The RESCUE has the right to void this contract for any reason and not allow the adoption to proceed until the time the cat leaves our possession. The reason for voiding the contract may or may not be disclosed to the adopting party.
